Skateboarding Film Series at BAM

There’s no question it’s impact on popular culture, but having BAM, one of the most established film institutions in the city, dedicate a series to films about skateboarding is a nice surprise. September 6th through the 23rd, the Brooklyn Academy of Music Cinematek will feature 19 films part of their series “Skateboarding Is Not a Crime” spanning six decades of films about skateboarding. The series will include notable films by Larry Clark, Stacy Peralta and even Spike Jonze’s ‘Yeah Right!’ for Girl Skateboards. The entire line up and schedule is listed on the BAM website.
