Recently, Brian Clarke, Joe Bressler and myself visited the lovely city of San Francisco. In hopes of seeking refuge from the wintery weather looming in NY and to convene with Brian Delatorre (who was already out there), it was decided that the first two weeks of December would be the ideal timeframe for our trip. None of us had ever been to SF before. Albeit what had been told to us by friends about the Bay Area or seen in videos, we really didn’t know what to expect.
As we move on from 2012 into 2013 (our tenth year!), we want to take some time to thank everyone who made last year one of the best yet for us at DQM. Here are some of our favorite and most memorable moments of the past year.
The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy is still very real for many in the New York City area who have lost nearly everything. Tonight, Vans is reaching out to anyone in the Long Beach area that still needs clothing or shoes. If you need these items, come by the fountain at City Hall between the hours of 6:30-8pm and pick up what you need. Items will be given out on a first come first serve basis. Long Beach City Hall is located at 1 West Chester St, Long Beach, NY.

Girl and Chocolate Skateboards are coming up on their 20 year anniversary, and their new video, Pretty Sweet, which premiered last Friday night in Los Angeles, and Sunday night in New York, proved why they have truly stood the test of time in skateboarding. DQM was privileged to host the New York City premiere this past Sunday, November 18th, to a packed house filled with skaters and celebs alike. A big thank you to everyone who came out for the premiere, and congratulations to the whole crew at Girl and Chocolate for once again, and always, leading the way; pushing the limits of skateboarding and our inspiration, and most importantly for keeping it real and staying humble throughout the years. Amazing! Keenan forever.
Our hearts go out to all of those suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Many areas of New York City and other regions of the East Coast need your help to rebuild and bounce back. This Thursday night, please come to East Coast Relief, an evening of musical performances to benefit the Red Cross at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. All proceeds from the event will go to helping those in need. We hope to see you there!
