Pontus’s Ghost
November 14, 2011
If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound? If the wilderness housing this tree hasn’t seen masses since the years of “Five Flavors” does said myth become even more of a reality? Does this tree continue to skate and build spots just for the forest and the sake of its cement seedling? Just to stare at it, nurture it, watch it grow and become influenced and affected by others?
...You could speculate that this tree has cement babies all over Malmo, funding their tuition, shaping their lives toward a more noble cause and living the emotions of the father as they disappear into their own futures and forget their reason of existence.
It’s best to keep in mind that these spirits, walking the Earth, dancing in and out of the shadows and under the stars might be a dish best discovered in passing, in solitude, upon hear say. You are supposed to forget, and then remember in a flash of certainty and relief, that someone out there is doing it right, all along, as you work, sleep, age and wrinkle.
In the end, maybe it’s not the noise the tree makes, but how long it takes before it hits the ground and the vibrations that shake the Earth and ripple away like sod tsunamis in it’s wake.
